Do you try to do it all?

Are you exhausted and overwhelmed?

Do you wonder when it is your turn to get taken care of?

In October of 2012 my husband had a psychiatric emergency and ended up in the hospital. Suddenly, I went from having my husband around to help with meals, parenting our three children, taking care of the house and all the things, to having to do it on my own. When he came home from the hospital he was still in a deep depression and had high anxiety. He was stuck in flight mode, for sure. Later, he was diagnosed with PTSD. He was no longer able to work and we went from two incomes to one. I was hypervigilant and to be honest co-dependent. I took care of everything and everyone except for myself. I was mentally and emotionally exhausted. I ran and ran until I burned myself out. It was the hardest thing I have gone through, and a very long road.

I am proof that you can get through hard things. You can come out stronger and resilient and be able to be there for yourself! I have learned the art setting up boundaries and expectations for my family. I am able to take the time to fill up my cup and know I am doing what is best for all of us!

I have come out on the other side and have faith in myself to get through anything, and you can too!

There is a light at the end of the tunnel.

I care about you.
